The Haslam family, country music superstars and a national sports icon are submitting a bid to bring a WNBA team to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. “It’s time to have a women’s professional sports team in Tennessee,” former Gov. Bill Haslam said in an interview. It would mark Haslam’s second pro team, following his purchase of a majority stake in the Nashville Predators.
